Almost Recuperated

First off, let me say...YEAH TRACY!!! You started your own blog and now I can read about you everyday!!! For those of you who may have skipped my first entry, my sis Tracy has just taken a six month job in Ireland. I have successfully bullied her into starting her own blog so I can keep up to date with her European adventures!! For all concerned...she did make it safely to London and seems to be acclimating well to her new surroundings. She'll be in London for a week before traveling on to Ireland where she will be living. I love my sister dearly, but right now I'm so jealous I can't stand it...she is only miles from the Winthrop family and that makes me tear up right now just thinking about it!! Sometimes I miss Joy (and Family) so much it's like a big hole in my heart...and now's one of those times...anyway...I'm not bitter Trac, really I'm not!! LOL
Well here in Lawton we have almost recuperated from your trip home to Kentucky. The girls and I went last week for spring break. Other than the stomach flu, minor concussion and two CT scans we had a great time!! LOL All in all we really did enjoy our vacation. We got to spend quality time with Gigi and Pa...and Sam too...who by the way absolutely loved Sarah. I think it's because they happen to be almost the same size!! We also got to say goodbye to Tracy and as a special treat Tommy, Sheena and the boys came to visit!! Our time with them was too short, but we did get to have a quickie first birthday party for Westin and what a cutie he is!!! (I'll add their picture as soon as I figure out how to download Sheena's pictures into my photo file!!)
Sarah took a little tumble off the couch and ended up in the ER with a minor concussion. My long time (I put old first, but that just sounded bad) friend Dezetta and her husband Shane along with Gigi, Pa, Maddy and I sat at the ER for 4 hours waiting to find out Sarah was fine!! Yikes!! You sure know who loves you after 4 long hours at Baptist East!! Immediately following the concussion Sarah came down with a stomach bug. I can't remember ever doing so much laundry in a four day period!! Sarah's bug seems to have finally worked it way out of her system and she's almost back to herself...except she's grown quickly accustomed to being held every waking moment and that's not going over so well now that Gig isn't here to help out in that department!!
Maddy's back in school and her sleep schedule seems to be back to normal...thank goodness!! I've never known a kid who needs her beauty sleep like my little Maddy!! I read her report card right before sending her off to school on Monday morning....probably good I didn't see it before we left the previous weekend!! It would have given me something to whine and gripe about the whole trip!! She got a C in reading... a C!!!!! First of all who gets grades in Kindergarten. I thought you got smiley faces and check marks...oh no, not at Lawton Christian School...seems she's behind in reading because she still needs to sound out her words. Can you believe it??? A five year old that can't read by sight or at the very least sound it out in her head...my goodness the disgrace!! I guess we're just going to have to start looking for a tutor...AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Talk about the "Hurried Child."
I think Jeff's glad to have us back home. He's not super thrilled about the girl noises that he has been free of for over a week!! but he'll get used to it again!! And me...I'm just glad I made it back in town before the half of a half Tuesday night VIP sale!! Gotta run, dinner needs to be on the go before I head over to half of a half...it's the one thing I won't be late for!!!

Oh Melissa! You crack me up! I was just thinking about Joy when I read your blog. I should have asked you for her number. I think you should begin planning your trip ASAP, and tell Joy she needs to plan to come see us =)
I love that picture of the girls you added! And tell Sarah I'm getting over her bug too. HA! Give everyone a hug, and thanks for the idea about the blog. I think I'll be looking for them every day, just like you said. Love you, xoxo -Tracy
