Maddy's Growing Up!!

Well it's official...my baby's growing up! This week held two life altering events for my five year old...first, she got glasses and second, she learned to blow a bubble with her bubble gum!! Yep, and both were just as exciting in Maddy's eyes!
A few weeks ago Maddy's teacher sent a note home saying she was having trouble seeing the board in class. Jeff and I are both near sighted so we weren't surprised that she would have trouble as well...we just didn't think it would be so soon! After an extensive exam the doctor found out that Maddy isn't near sighted, she is far sighted. She was struggling so hard to see up close while she was reading and writing etc. that when she would look up her eyes would spasm and cause her distance vision to blur as well. So basically she was having difficulty seeing almost all the time at school! Yikes!! Because she's so young it's likely she will grow out of the problem...we'll keep our fingers crossed! After our doctor's visit we marched right over to the PX to get some glasses. She picked out an adorable little pair that looked amazingly like mine! My little mini me! She doesn't love them, but she's dealing. She only has to wear them when she's reading, writing, coloring etc, so basically at school. That makes it much easier...let me tell you the minute she sets foot in the van those glasses are off and in their case! What can you expect really? She's five!! LOL

Now the second big event was bubble blowing...may not seem like much to you, but let me tell you that is a seriously big deal!! She's so proud of herself! She has been working on that trick for as long as I can remember and all of a sudden she just got it. She's proud as a little peacock walking around with a bubble hanging out of her mouth. Glasses...bubbles...it sure has been a big week for the oldest Pederson Girly!!

I remember the days of glasses, like when I lost mine! She looks adorable, please tell her that Aunt Tracy loves her new look! And congratulations on the bubbles, remember, mommy, peanut butter gets it out of your hair without having to cut it out! =)
Love you, Tracy
